Basically just a worse Greninja.
Less coverage options, limited to physical moves, slower.
Won't be terrible, but won't be any more disgustingly overpowered than Protean Greninja was.

Pyro Ball and HJK are far better than all the options Greninja had on top of Cinderace's having a better attack stat. 119 speed vs 122 speed makes virtually no difference because of how few Pokemon there are in the game. You can even get away with running Adamant over Jolly and still outspeed everything that's actually relevant.

Alot of things after it got Thunder Wave'd or the other side set up Tailwind or literally any other option of speed control that has been rampant this entire meta from day one. And that's not forgetting the people that will pop up in the DLC.

Yes I can safely assume that everyone that sees a fast physical threat on team preview will make sure to have a plan to deal with it. There is no room for glass cannons in this meta, specially not where Dynamax isn't banned and thus "strong thing that can make use of its bulk" are much more useful than anything of Cinderace's kind.

Aside from the occasional mixed set with Low Kick and Gunk Shot, most Pro-Grens were running purely special sets due to the raw power of its moves. Cinderace is going to be an OU staple when Libero drops since its movepool and higher attack stats will leave not much willing to come in and tank a hit.

I think you missed the point of me saying Cinderace is limited to physical moves.
Cinderace gets access to shadow ball, mud shot, and electro ball, so it can become ghost, ground, and electric type, but those moves are wasted on it because of its shitty special attack.
As a mixed attacker, Greninja can use all of its Protean STABs and use them well.

gren wasn't overpowered because it got checked easily by pex and the common grass/water/electric types in SM, both offensively and defensively

not all of these can switch into gren, but most of them can force it out. especially since they mostly ran ash gren with specs and water shuriken/hydro pump/dark pulse/ice beam

libero cinderace seems like it will be on a similar threat level to greninja, but fine again when DLC puts le genie of balance back in the meta

Pyro Ball is what makes this thing a monster honestly.
Its stats are slightly worse than Greninja but having access to 120/90 damage:accuracy STAB as well as Hi Jump Kick, Sucker Punch, Court Change while very situational can at least avoid Ghost-type damage, etc.
It will absolutely be on every fucking team once it becomes legal, however.

The only mons immune to fire are ones with flash fire, and the only flash fire mons that wouldn't resist fire anyway are Heatran and Centiskorch. For anything else, Cinderace would be better off using a neutral max move, which would also have the added benefit of setting up a secondary effect.

In BSS it's very good considering how fucking common Mimikyu is. Also it has more power than normal Max Flare so it's not that bad of a trade-off.
