Idk if this counts, but when I was in third grade (2003-2004) a kid in my class traded me his entire BINDER of Pokemon cards for a Blaziken. The binder was stacked and I didn't particularly care for the Blaziken because it wasn't even my starter from that game. So I made out like a thief, and he came to regret his decision, but I didn't let him get a refund. After that the principal made a rule that we weren't allowed to trade cards at the school anymore.

I was playing Sapphire at night when I was meant to be asleep. I had decided to try out the game with Blaziken but without saving as I didn't want to erase my hundreds of hours with Swampert. I heard my dads bedroom door open and in my panic I saved and quit instead of just quitting.

Until X/Y, I never saved pokemon or carried them over to other games. In fact, I was the exact opposite. I beat the campaign with a team of 6 and would usually reset and clear with a new team. Sometimes I gave my brothers my pokemon to trade to their games. I had the ability to keep all of my pokemon, but I never did. This led to me, despite being the oldest of my siblings actually getting my shit pushed in occasionally when me and my bros would battle. I would only ever have whatever 6 pokemon I had on whatever cart while my bros all had games with hundreds of pokemon they had raised up to battle. When it got to dppt, I regularly started losing more often due to them just having more variety and being smarter and understanding the competitive side more.

so I bought an action replay with some allowance in secret and hacked myself about a box full of competitive tier 31 in all IVs, EVs maxed out in their wanted stats, and correct nature + egg moves. resold the action replay at school and went back to wiping the floor with my brothers in battles because I had a decent variety now as well as all perfect pokemon when it was still tough to breed them.
