We have plenty of other material beside the games to fill in the gaps. You can just isekai into the anime or manga universes instead.

They are canon, they're own canons. The anime universe in particular identical to the game universe due to Game Freak working closely with and helping OLM with the anime by providing reference material.

If you isekai'd into the Pokemon world there'd dozens of other regions they haven't even made games of yet. When they finally stop making Pokemon media the world will be complete, so isekai-ing in now would include every region they'll ever make (plus shitty regions like Orre and Oblivia)
