Are there going to be daily threads by 1000 elo idiots about Blaze Blaziken now? Retards don't understand if you make an exception for Blaziken you have to make dozens of others for every single other Pokemon that is specifically good because of a certain ability.

You're right.
Tiering Pokemon by their ability is too hard. Tiering Pokemon based on Dynamax is totally different.

Yeah, not allowing a broken gimmick button is the same as tiering every Pokemon by ability, moves, item and level. Why is /vp/ filled with so many bad players?

how is that a slippery slope? if you ban blaziken with speed boost because speed boost makes blaziken broken, how is that different from banning only dark void darkrai because dark void is what makes him broken?

What bothers me is that Shadow tag is banned instead of Gothitelle when utilizing Wobbuffet as a trapper requires tons of team support that Gothitelle doesn't and has never really been demonstrated to be anything beyond "usable"

They didn’t ban Shadow Tag on Wobbuffet, they banned Shadow Tag period. Speed Boost itself is fine by contrast, so they banned the only OP speed booster (Blaziken) instead of needlessly fucking Ninjask etc.

in this case, you're saying that the slippery slope is:

however, what that guy is (presumably) trying to say is:
>if they tier by what makes an individual pokemon broken, then we will tier by moves and abilities.
so in that case there's no slippery slope. the one action causes all of the results.

Dynamax is an extreme situation. Ubers was fine with Dynamax when there were only 3 legends and none of them could Dynamax. Then a bunch more legendaries came from Home, could Dynamax for some reason, and were inevitably great at abusing it because they're legendaries with crazy high stats. Banning Dynamax entirely likely isn't necessary because of the higher overall power level of Ubers, and keeping it around can be beneficial to the non-Uber mons in the tier.
What does allowing Blaze Blaziken add? It's not a valuable enough addition to lower tiers to warrant a complex ban.
