Dark types are supposed to fight DIRTY, not evil.
If they were supposed to be evil, then by that logic, the moon is evil (referencing to Umbreon) and Absol is evil for warning people that disasters are coming.

A lot of dark types get the type for reasons as weak as those, dark color schemes and or being nocturnal or ferocious animals are what define some dark types. When people argue about why pokemon like luxray are not dark they say it shouldn't because it's not actually evil, what people complain about is it not being that, it is easier to explain why another pure electric type would have been a useless and repetitive shitmon than to explain why it couldn't be dark type.
