Why is Pokemon plagued with so many western dragons? Even the biggest shillmon of all time is a generic western dragon (Charizard). Considering the franchise originated in Asia, there is a criminal lack of eastern serpentine dragons. The only ones I can think of off the top of my head are Dragonair, Gyarados, Rayquaza, and Drampa. I hope for the next generation, we get a Chinese themed region with many eastern dragon Pokemon. Real dragons are meant to look regal and majestic and guard the heavens. Why would anyone prefer the gaijin version which are just big ugly fat lizards that destroy everything in their path?
