Is Twilight Wings the best representation of the Pokemon world outside of the games we've ever gotten? It actually feels like a believable lived-in world unlike so much of the anime and manga's.

I liked that in wooloos episode town was full of trainers and their pokemons, meanwhile in recent ashnime episode about Leon vs Lance you could see none pokemons in the crowd around stadion. Only proves that current state of anime is trash.

That would be the case in the game's universe too. What we see in-game is an abstracted and simplified version where details that aren't important to gameplay are left out. In actuality, the size and population of the world is the same as the anime.

Eh, that's been carried over into the game canon at this point too. Even Pokken does it. The namespeak has ultimately become very ingrained into the identity of the franchise.

Alola actually barely had any locations that weren't in the games or one-time only characters. For whatever reason, they kept Alola almost exactly the same as its game counterpart.

Twilight wings was pretty great at representing the world. I felt like the Sun and Moon anime did a good job with that too. It's less condensed, but I liked how they had the pokemon interacted with the world. Sometimes they'd show off behaviors that weren't really hinted at in the games and other times they'd just show how they lived with people. I think it helped that it was more localized too instead of having them travel around everywhere. It made them focus more on interactions, and the limited area made it so that they were filling in details for a few areas rather than constantly moving about.

I feel like Twilight and Generations pulled that off well, but that may be because it jumps around more. Personally, I felt like the way the anime held journeying wasn't all that great. I didn't really like the wandering around the random forest slog that was used to fill up space.
It's been a while since I've watched, but I remember the Orange Islands and early Hoenn handling traveling pretty well though.
