There are Pokemon that would make the game much easier if they could be caught at an earlier route (a pseudo on route 1, etc.), but what are some examples of Pokemon that would make the game harder if they were the only available choices in the initial route?

I wanted to try pic related in Gen 1, so I started Yellow with it as my starter. Jesus Christ, it's so fucking frail and sucks so hard, I had no idea.
