Only one out of two players needed a trade link and Sw/Sh made trading even more complicated by not including something as basic as GTS, even trading with a friend is really fucking weird right now.

You can literally use those 184 previous pokemon, need i remind you that in G/S you couldn't get the kanto starters/all the stone evolutions/fossils besides aerodactyl/kanto legendaries? And there's actually more pokemon to catch. Sure, you can catch more pokemon in G/S but atleast they added a lot of new pokemon to make up for it.
Like i said, the new features balanced out the loss of features in my opinion.
