Having a full team of six fully-evolved Pokemon is almost unheard of outside of League-recognized individuals: the only such full battles that I can recall are against your similarly exceptional rivals or Veteran Shaun in Gen V. And even among League trainers, most of those only got so far by specializing in a single type, while you the player can handle 'mons of any variety with ease. And that doesn't even begin to address the real Indian Elephant in the room that separates game protags from even the strongest of NPC Champions: the fact that Pokemon spoken of only in myths and legends will submit to (You) with relative ease. Encounters that would normally happen once in a thousand lifetimes have been a canon source of PC box fillers since Pokemon Crystal version, and have only been cheapened with time and successive titles. No one else in the world is going to be running around with the Gods of the Land and Sea on their belts, to say nothing of the very embodiments of Creation itself. I would argue that Pokemon player characters are some of the most exceptional individuals in gaming, and the fact that people still dismiss what (You) end up doing as something any average 10-year-old could do is a testament to how poorly written this franchise is.
