But that aside, while you technically don't need LGPE to get Melmetal in GO, unless you're sitting on hundreds of Rare Candy in GO (which might be feasible for a longtime player or a whale, but not so much for newer or free players), having a copy of LGPE will make getting Melmetal significantly faster.
