I always considered Vast Poni Canyon to be the Victory Road in SM.
Like Route 10 is in SwSh.

Both of Unova's desu
For BW1 the buildup to the road with the gates and being able to see the hill you're climbing before getting to the top add a lot of meaning to your final trek.
BW2's is the most raw enjoyable one. It's long, there's a good amount of exploration without feeling needlessly maze-like, a lot of trainers to battle and a nice variety in scenery. Being able to go to N's Castle is also a huge plus.

Because to reach Victory Road you have to go from New Bark Town through route 27, navigate Tohjo Falls, and then through Route 28 to reach the reception gate so the whole journey there has 12 trainers.

that never made sense, it's saying route 223 or route 23 in bw2 count as Victory Road, they probably ran out of space and made silver say a line to cover up the limitations

There wasn't a Pokemon Center before Victory Road, and the healing house wasn't a spawn point so you'd be sent all the way back to New Bark if you lost in Victory Road.

In HGSS it's because the rival beat all the trainers there and sent them packing. We can assume the same was their justification for the originals

in the remakes they say Silver defeated all the trainers before you arrived, but in the originals there is no excuse

why do HMfags think HMs are the only thing that creates exploration? Alola's victory road is the worst in the series (well, the SM one at least), but it's not bad because it doesn't have HMs, it's bad because it doesn't have very many pathways. Look at pic related. It has lots of pathways so it's easy for the player to get lost. You don't need to force the player to use shitty moves to make challenging dungeons
