Last one took about an hour each, this one has taken about 7 so far and I've found a shiny Spearow NidoranF and Rat in the meantime

Looking for an Eevee on Leaf Green. Already did 1000 SRs a few months ago, but now that I'm back I'm just keeping track of the hours. 4 hours so far.

I love the Gen 3, shinies over there are so rare that the dopamine rush goes insane when we find one, it's wonderful and addictive. Literally a drug.

it was a bug when the game launched and they were incredibly rare, i recall seeing a barbaracle, pikachu and maybe spinda or scyther (posted on the internet I mean, thats how uncommon it was). unfortunatly it got patched out

i like gen 7 sos because they mostly only call one species so multiple cycles are not really a thing

I'm not currently hunting, but I've found a shiny Sandshrew, Spinda and Skarmory while doing hordes in ORAS for EV training, no shiny charm

Its personal preference. Sometimes I try to keep track of my total encounters if I'm doing multiple hunts in succession, but other times I just begin to count when I start a new one.

About to start a SOS chain for Kangaskhan soon using Cubone.
Someone mentioned it here recently and inspired me to try it out for myself.
Actually tried it already a few days ago, but the Synchronizer failed so I'm trying it again.

Hidden Ability Mankey through SOS chaining.
5th Shiny to appear had its Hidden Ability.

Probably Pokeradar chaining in Gen 4, although I haven't done it in years.

Truth be told, I'd rather they never return. I'm fine with Shinies as they are.

Shinies were "so rare" in Gen 3?
Wasn't that way for me. I must've had about a dozen Shiny Zigzagoons/Linoones alone by the time I finally retired the game for Gen 4 and never looked back.

Would've been something in Silver, but the cartridge got wiped years ago.
I'd instead say something from Ruby. Not sure which one of the four that I've still held onto are the oldest, though. Probably the Linoone.

it is based on RNG, so actual incidence of shinies are subject to chance. Numbers-wise there are no built-in ways to increase shiny probability in gen 3, unlike later gens. even gen 2 has the shiny gene inheritance which raises shiny probability up to 1/64

I figured with the shiny breeding trick in gen 2, the shiny eevee would be guaranteed male. That's how I got my shiny HA espeon and shiny HA sylveon

I can't get to decide: I want to hunt for a gen8 Pokémon to use it in the Battle Stadium. I need to find a good-looking shiny which can also be viable in singles, but none of my favorite gen8 shinies are somewhat good in competitive. Any suggestion?

HA shiny Rowlet via Masuda Method in Sword. I got a regular ability Rowlet, but I will be able to use it nonetheless.

Gen 6 is nearly perfect.
Gen 8 is the best for Masuda Methoding a shiny but lacks a funny method like chain fishing or Poké radar.

My oldest was a Zubat, but I lost it after going between saves a few years ago.

That Shroomish was a real surprise, probably my second shiny, and I almost had a heart attack at the time. I think that I found him in 2018.
