Is there anyone who actually uses the normal type? only weakness is fighting, only immunity is ghost, not super effective against anything, tons of movepools potential

However
their BST is often mediocre or below average
their designs are rather basic and uninteresting

They're very versatile, and can fit onto any team. There's a wide variety of designs and they tend to have very big movepools.

A lot of them are useful in multiplayer/battle facilities. For the main campaign though? No, it's more effective to just use super-effective STABs.

I like Chansey, Ditto, Arceus, Regigias, Type: Null, Silvally, Furfrou, Eevee, Dubwool, and the Porygon line.

I've always thought Normal was a weird type thematically. Even back in gen 1, it wasn't really cohesive.
You've got "literally my mom's animal", like Rattata, Tauros, Meowth, and Pidgey.
You've got mons that change type so normal is just their neutral form, like Ditto, Eevee, and Porygon.
And then you've got shit that's definitely not normal, but doesn't fit into any other type, like Chansey, Lickitung, and Clefairy.

Normal was to Pokemon types what protists are to taxonomy. Just a sort of "it doesn't really fit anywhere else" category. I do think that over time it's gotten a clearer identity, though, partially thanks to Fairy taking away some of its oddballs.

Not really. We still have weird shit like Indeedee, "my mom's animal" like Wooloo, and while there are no multi-type mons in gen 8, we did just have Silvally last gen.

The ghost immunity can come in handy, and often they have Dark type moves for coverage (or even better, gets Scrappy). Also Fighting is a pretty easy type to get coverage for so it being their only weakness makes them flexible.

Its supposed to be a generic marsupial creature. It would fit as a Fairy type but for balance concerns it is obviously not one, generic pink Pokemon are a staple of both types.

Normal is like the animal type. If your animal is on fire or swims or used martial arts it's not normal but if it's just a normal land animal like a bear or raccoon or ape it's normal type. It's damaging moves are uses of force without emphasis on technique; heavy slams and simple strikes or beams of raw energy.
Normal is my favorite. I love Slaking and Wigglytuff.

I always have a Normal type on my team. The type has my favourite designs and I love jack-of-all-trades neutral interactions, plus Normal type moves often have a secondary effect to stand out from each other unlike some other types where it's almost always "hits hard". My only problem is that Return ruins every moveset by being the best option 9 times out of 10, so I'm glad it's gone.

Lopunny has perfect STAB coverage thanks to its Normal/Fighting typing and Scrappy.
Chansey and Blissey have such bloated Special bulk that the neutral typing ends up being a boon.
Arceus and Linoone like STAB Extreme Speed.
There are a few others that like STAB fake out.
That's about it though.

Normal is just "typeless" as far as elements go, so normal animals, the neutral state of Pokémon that change type or form, and Pokémon that just represent Elemental neutrality are all Normal.
