Is anyone else tired of the 3 starters mechanic? They should change things next Gen. Maybe add more types or
change the usual types, at least.

Which would be the best replacement for the Fire/Water/Grass scheme?

They'll never change it because there's no existing type trifecta that best encompasses the Rock Paper Scissors aspect that Grass, Water and Fire do.

They'll never do this as they make the games primarily for kids and even the most smooth-brained rugrat knows grass
(and plants) burn, water puts out fire and grass (and plants) absorb water, meaning keeping the GFW triangle is the easiest method of teaching them the game.

I wish we would get regional variants of the starters, at least.
Like a Totodile with a Water/Dark final evo or a Tepig with Fire/Flying for that old ass joke.

Theme is simply “cute” (as if a turd like Slurpuff is ever consider cute lol), and pink. Just slapping a face on a keychain is enough to make it a fairy.

Oh, and fairy also exists for one additional purpose; being paired with Psychic so its literally random bug resistance counters the bug vulnerability of Psychics.

I'm not really "tired" of the 3 starter mechanic but I am open to the idea of changing the way starters work even if it's just for one gen. However I do think the 3 starter idea would be good for a game focused on triple battles
