>>43264391Gonna be contrarian here and advocate for HGSS. It's a superior remake that smooths the awful level curve of the original, adds content such as safari zone to Johto (which helps with the somewhat poor Pokémon selection in the first half of the game), and in general just does a lot to expand the second half of the game, adding areas that were cut from Kanto in the original. It's a little slower to start, but the handholding isn't as bad as FRLG or ORAS.
Oh, and Battle Frontier.
