https://youtu.be/Smbd31V4UcsThis is a difficult RPG boss. He has several powerful attacks. He can kill the player in two turns at pretty much any time. He uses buffs and debuffs to force the player to think of counter-strategies. He has plenty of health so you can't kill him in two turns. He checks the state of the battle before he moves.
But he's not a RNG dice roll. You can take his advantages away, weather his attacks and chip away at him. There's consistent strategies that work every time, even if you're playing on hard mode or underleveled.
That's what Pokémon should try to be, and what it consistently fails at outside of a few shining moments like the totems in USUM.
If you don't play any decent RPGs like the above, you don't know shit about difficulty.
