I'm not even bothering addressing the latter point, it was obvious Ash's Pikachu was going to be the Gmaxchu, when the Gmaxchu in the games was a unique one-per-playthrough loyalty bonus.

Stop using a word you don't know the meaning of. It's still the same Pikachu but with more information known about it now. The Pikachu in the episodic anime was a wild Pichu before being in the possession of Oak as a Pikachu and he has the ability to Gigantamax. We still don't know what led to Pichu being in the wild (Pikachu/Raichu parent(s) from the wild and why Pichu was alone, released from a trainer, or something else) and what led Pikachu to be in a Poke Ball. Pikachu Forest still exists, and the smaller Pikachu from there are now validated from Go and Let's Go having sizes. Why was Pikachu defiant when being given to Ash? Did it have a bad history with humans, was it being a sore loser of getting caught, or is there another reason? People thought Pikachu was born as a Pikachu before Pichu was introduced in Gen 2. There are things that are unexplained but can still explained later.

Pichu are outcasted from Pikachu Forest until they evolve. That's why the Pichu Brothers are outside of the forest and why the backstory starts with Pichu walking alone. That's also a complete bullshit reason and the Pikachu line starting life as Pichu instead of smaller Pikachu is an actual retcon.

If it was Gen I, I'll slap you as the anime didn't work as closely with Game Freak when it came to producing it in OS till they got rid of Shudo. He basically did his own thing, then reacted when Game Freak came back with reference material for the new games. If Shudo was around during XY, we would have gotten an actual OC asspull, instead of a Game Freak created one for Ash-Greninja.

Pikachu had never dynamaxed before so we can't say he was retconned from regular dynamax to gigantamax, and even then it's very possible that Pikachu is able to gigantamax because of Eternatus, which caused Pikachu's electricity to flare up and was the only pokemon on the plane to react.
There is also nothing about Pichu showing up 4 years before the series began to suggest it's a reboot unless you're retarded

Eternatus, the source of the Dynamax phenomenom and possibly the source of the G-Factor, was rampaging a bit before Pikachu Gigantamaxed for the first time, and it is established that you can gain Gigantamax forms. If anything, the Gigantamax does not support your argument in the slightest.

Ash's old Pokemon are still canon so it isn't a reboot. All the events of the older series still happened.
You could call it a soft reboot, but that's what every new series is. He starts over basically from scratch with new Pokemon, new friends, new region, etc.

The games were out a year before they started making merch and the anime, in which time it had grown to be the most popular due to its rarity and cuteness. They decided to make it the mascot due to fan opinion on it over clefairy before going into production of the anime (the very first Pokémon manga had Red and his partner clefairy to tie into this intent).

you don't understand what words mean, do you? "Retcon" = RETroactive CONtinuity. Continuity is when a thing continues. If a thing is introduces in part 3 of a sequence, then parts 1 and 2 don't include it. If you want to imply that it existed prior to that point and that those prior events have "continuity" you have to apply it retroactively. It doesn't have to be contradictory to established facts to be a retcon, that's not a defining detail that's just a commonality of how the word gets thrown around by autistic comic book fanboys.

Another example of this in PM would be Lance's outfit being based on Galar's Dragon Gym uniform. It's a retcon because Galar obviously hasn't been thought of yet when they made Lance's HGSS design, but his outfit being based on the Hammerlocke Gym uniform doesn't contradict anything. It's an additive retcon.

The soft reboot started being a thing in Gen 5, that's why the anime was trash. Both Orange Islands and Johto had Ash's Kanto pokemon appear constantly, Hoenn had Brock and the Battle Frontier season in Kanto, and Sinnoh also had Brock, aipom (caught at the end of Gen 3) and a big chunk of Ash's old pokemon.
Plus, Team Rocket's Arbok and Weezing were released in Hoenn, while the rest of their pokemon except Dustox, Chimecho and Cacnea spanned both gen 3 and 4.

The Battle Frontier season is an anomaly, as it was a filler arc created only because Diamond & Pearl were delayed. The soft reboot thing started with Gen 3.

AG was a major retooling of the anime; Misty was no longer part of the main cast, and Ash and Team Rocket completely swapped their Pokemon for new ones. AG was also the first time that the anime started being considered a separate show when they went to new regions. Kanto, Orange Islands, and Johto were all considered a single series, but Hoenn onwards are all considered their own individual series.

Even putting aside >>43297503, it makes perfect sense for Ash's Pikachu to Gigantamax. You get Gigantamax Pikachu for having played Let's Go Pikachu, which is a remake of Yellow, which is directly based off the anime. So Ash's Pikachu being able to G-Max is like coming full circle.
