I think the failure of Town is gonna have repercussions in the pokemon franchise. Gamefreak now knows that they have no loyal fanbase. Everyone who pays them any mind is there for only pokemon. They're damned to being a pokemon producing company until pokemon dies or Gamefreak dies. Nothing else they'll ever do will get any sort of attention or recognition because it's not pokemon.
