Gen 6+ is too easy because of the experience share
Gen 5 games give you the lucky egg early
All the other games have a balanced level curve meaning you will never lose a battle unless you're shit

GSC and HGSS have you severely underleveled the whole game and you can't grind because wild Pokémon are weak as fuck

No, you're overleveled for all of them but Red and even if you weren't it's not as if the Johto games have difficult boss battles. The movesets for a lot of them are some of the worst in the series and half of them are filled with NFEs.

If you're not in the high 30s low 40s by the time you reach Clair and the first E4 run then you are definitely grinding and then Kanto ramps up the levels in a way you can't catch up without grinding, don't be a liar, I just finished the game this week

Never been that low and I don't grind at all. And it's a shit excuse when you decide to include the lucky egg and exp. share, as all three are optional. If lucky egg and exp. share make the game "too easy", so does grinding.

I just finished SoulSilver lasr weekend. My mons were in the early 40s when I reached the E4 and that's even with gettint Lugia and Tyrogue. Fought every trainers and never switched my mons after getting them either. The Kanto gym leaders have mons in the early 40s

I somewhat agree. The level curve may be shit, but it doesn't really matter because hgss isn't fun due to difficulty it's more about the atmosphere and immersion and large amount of stuff to do, and all the little touches here and there

I never felt platinum was THAT hard, but it really ramps up the movesets in that last part of the game, and the level curve is steep but fair. it's also the only game where trainers on routes can be a notorious challenge (That ace trainer double battle at the end of route 215)
