alpha sapphire, gen 6 is a really good gen to hunt in. the sparkles are really good (looks-wise, gen 5 takes the cake sound-wise)

Fucked if I know, If a hunt's not happening for me, I move on and hunt something else or on another game, then go back to it when I feel ready to take another crack at it.

Ultra Sun or Sword seems to be the two with most hours spent on shiny hunts, I think. Didn't really hunt until Gen VII launched and haven't spent near as much time hunting in older games as I have the newest ones.

I am still shiny ponytaless in GO too. Worst part was, I was actually off the days its launch and boosted spawns were running and I didn't even know it was its release till after it ended.

Actually, it's my first proper shiny hunting session since the DP radar, as later I discovered RNG abuse and it completely deromanticized shinies for me. Returning to it now since I was gonna breed some competitive mons anyway, so hi new friends

I'm beginning to think shiny Pokemon just don't hatch out of eggs in SwSh. I've hatched over 1000 eggs of different shit using the Masuda method and I've got nothing to show for it. No wonder people think these games are trash. Fuck gen 8 forever.

You're not hatching enough eggs. Game's not guaranteed to spit out an egg after 512/683 eggs (odds with/without SC), sometimes the seed drops it first batch or box, other times you need to really grind the cunts out. But I guarantee you Masuda works, you just need to apply yourself harder.

Egg moves can be passed on by the mother now and can even pass them on to a compatible male providing it has a free moveslot. Its usefulness just shrunk again.

Last year when trying to hatch a shiny froakie it took 3500+ eggs to get one shiny. This was when I was using masuda method + different region mon+ shiny charm.

In Gen VIII, if you stick a female pokémon with an egg move, you can pass it to a male of the same species, providing the male has an open move slot to learn it.

Yes, after all the eggs I was lucky enough to get protean on the first try. Can't say I had the same luck with Fennekin took 3 shinies before magician appeared but took about 1/3 of the eggs needed for the 1 shiny protean Froakie.

It's different for Genderless Pokemon like Porygon.
You have to reject the egg that would've hatched as the Shiny and accept the one that comes immediately afterwards.
