The biggest problem is contextually available actions combined with a character whose movements you can't directly control.
Basically, you give a command that requires a particular object, and getting Pikachu to amble close enough to this object properly to accept the right command on the right target.
Once you kinda break through the illusion and understand the sort of artificial rules Pikachu follows, it's much easier to get him to do what you need.
There IS a bit of a shitty component where RNG can interfere with your ability to collect information on what works or not, so as a rule, if at first you don't succeed, try the same thing one or two more times for good measure.
But, the mic and voice recognition itself actually works pretty damn well. I think it's honestly at least as, if not more functional than voice commands for XBox's Kinnect thing.
