>>43317254> it's cool having some that are just "mysterious ancient beings of legend"except for their broken BSTs, I'm okay with this approach. Solgaleo and Lunala just happened to be Alola's legendaries (and each island had a Tapu) but except for some of the ramifications of the Ultra Space wormholes (and, except Team Rainbow Rocket, nothing has come of it, and it doesn't really seem like anything will) they and their lore are limited to Alola.
This is pretty similar to Mewtwo, Lugia, Ho-Oh, et al. who were just limited to their regions. They had sufficiently thorough dungeons and enough in-game flavor text to build up some mythos, but it was relatively grounded and there was no haphazard world-ending crisis. I give DPPt's legendaries a pass because the entire game's development philosophy was to create the 'ultimate' set of Pokemon games, but RSE, even though I love the weather trio, took things in the wrong direction, and the series has gone in that direction, mostly for the worse. As I said, though, the increasing BST power creep is a problem, and there's no apparent reason for it. Mewtwo, Ho-Oh, Lugia, Rayquaza, Groudon, Kyogre, Dialga, Palkia, Reshiram, Zekrom.. so far, all of the box legends are capped at 680... until Zacian/Zamazenta at 720 in their 'activated' formes. And Eternatus is at 690 (and 1125 for its Eternamax, which I'm only fine with as long as it stays unattainable). It contradicts shit, and sets off my autism.
