I only started to play showdown at the very end of gen6 so I just saw it as a well established but underplayed meta like the tiers below UU

Megas can be (and were) banned on a case-by-case basis. There's no need for a sweeping ban because they could just ban the mega stones, which is simple.
Dynamax needed to either be banned entirely or not banned at all because only banning certain Pokemon from using Dynamax makes it go far into complex ban territory.

Ditto is the only thing capable of stopping a boosted setup sweeper from sweeping. That was true before swoosh and is still true with dynamax. People tried a lot of different things. You underestimate how many games are played in a month, if a way to play around that mechanic while keeping a healthy metagame was found it would have been found already.

Also did you not consider that we never had those issues with the previous new mechanics?

Hell, why not do what fans have been doing and just make a game focused solely on battling and implement a teambuilder.
That way, people don’t have to inject for competitive teams, and you can use any Pokemon at any time.

The biggest learning curve with Pokemon is building your own team and seeing what works. That's an even bigger challenge in doubles which is more complicated to manage than singles and requires doing your homework on the meta.
Randbats skips the team building part that is a weakness for most players, pulling real sets from Smogon SINGLES tiers.
By filling randbats with memes and non functioning singles sets, it's no wonder why this board never tries to learn doubles.

There is no logic leap. Randbats is (by far) the most popular format on Showdown, primarily because the players don't have to make their own sets and this is what most players are bad at.
Smogon is a site that is singles-focused, offers scant documentation on doubles and doesn't hide its disdain for the VGC format.
If you have a site who has an incentive to discredit VGC and the doubles format, filling randbats with garbage is going to leave the impression doubles is garbage on a lot of people.

The animosity didn't subside just because Smogon now plays lip service to VGC. They'll discredit it wherever possible to promote their own format, since people caring about Smogon is what gives the tiering councils their sense of authority.

Have you considered the fact that what you call "lip service" to VGC contradicts the idea that they hate it?
They're under no obligation to host VGC on Showdown, have VGC threads on their forums, or post VGC sets on their site.
If anything, it would hurt VGC more to not allow it on their sites at all because Smogon is an easy entry point into competitive Pokemon, and a lot of VGC players test out teams on Showdown.
Their information on VGC is scant because it's not their focus. You may argue that they're biased against VGC and official formats in general, and you're right because of fucking course they are. Smogon only exists because someone wanted a better competitive format for Pokemon and that desire still exists today.

VGC by far.
Smogon battles tend to be pretty boring to watch, since there's a lot of switching happening, and showdown's animations are simplified, making turns go by quicker, but also making them less visually interesting.
VGC battles go by much faster and you get to see Gamefreak's (comparatively) high quality animations.
