I don't get why you'd aggressively market things that are already popular desu. Charizard isn't gonna stop selling merch just because it wasn't shilled for a gen. But if you shill something new now you have two things that sell merch instead of one.

Aside from the obvious unprecedented state of the world, they generally NEVER start off each new Gen by trying to shill everything at once, that's why the generations run 3 years, to spit it up over those 3 years.

I really don't get it. Why even introduce new potential shillmon if they just overshadow them with a 20+ year old fatass lizard? The amount of circlejerking towards Charizard makes little to no sense when the point of starters is to make a choice. Why make one of them blatantly more powerful than the others?
(This extends to Greninja and Cinderace as well)

It's a problem that needs to be addressed. Starter Pokemon are meant to be a trio and they're treating them like the Forces of Nature where one is severely more powerful than the other two.

100+ new Pokemon? It's 81 and 87 with the DLC (maybe a bit more). If you consider forms as new Pokemon, then uh, those Pokemon in that picture are new.

These complaints are honestly petty. Other than Leon's Charizard showing up relatively often (and that's entirely secondary to Leon being annoying), you could easily the ignore the species if you wanted. While it's silly that the Bulbasaur and Squirtle lines were initially excluded, Venusaur and Blastoise (and the Galar starters) will get their precious Gigantamax forms soon. Yay?

The complaints about Pikachu and Eevee don't make sense at all. One is the series mascot and the other one is close enough. Despite that, SwSh didn't force them on you whatsoever. I personally can't see even one Galar Pokemon that could reasonably compete with them in terms of cute+cool appeal, at least not over multiple generations. And even if it could be done, so? Are they losing any money by not abandoning what works? The new Pokemon are still getting merchandise, and the more popular ones won't disappear when SwSh stop being relevant.

I am not even especially fond of these three Pokemon (I prefer Flareon, Espeon and Umbreon to Eevee), but come on. Jealousy much?

Ehh depends. And no I won't use Incineroar because if you analyze it, it's actually not meant to be that widely used, it's just its "tropes" (or archetype) just mixes well. You want actual, unabashed pandering? Look at Blaziken.

Charizard is weaker than both Venusaur and Blastoise. Greninja only becomes good with Protean/Battle Bond, neither of which your starter Froakie can have. Cinderace is the only example of yours that actually works.

Not in the game.

It means your argument that it's unfair to the people who pick e.g. Chespin or Fennekin is wrong. The Froakie you pick doesn't and never will have Protean or Battle Bond anyways, so you aren't losing out by picking the other starters.

Starters being imbalanced is nothing new. Feraligatr is miles ahead of the other gen 2 starters for example, and Meganium especially is so bad it's difficult to use even in-game.
