Nah. They were underwhelming remakes, that added as much to the story and gameplay as they took out, with nominal additions to the dex and some incidental improvements. I like Mantine Surf, but it wasn't worth paying another $40 for.
This is absolutely not to excuse SWSH's Exapsnion Pack, because by SWSH, most frugal fans knew to wait for the third version, so a given generation would cost $40 for the FRLG/HGSS/ORAS remake, and another $40 for Emerald/Platinum/Z/USUM.
This locks you in to buying LGPE for, what, $80? And now SWSH for $80, and another $20-$30 for the expansion pack. For people who don't play games outside of Pokemon, the Switch is also more expensive than a majority of handhelds have ever been.. you're being asked to pay more for less.
