I don't care how they explain it or not, that isn't the point. Gmax should have been handled as Megas were. Most Gmax Pokemon were either bad, worse than their syntax or mediocre. There were only a few that were actually GOOD
>>43357190I mean Joey literally has a video on Darm suspect test where he too says he wishes they'd have done a suspect instead of a quickban
>>43357371I don't care what is a clusterfuck and what isn't, this is the exact mentality that is the problem. This is supposed to be as competitive of a format as possible, who cares if a 2 year old doesnt understand why you can't use a Dynamaxed version of Kingler but you can use Gmax Kingler? It's not that complicated or hard to explain and is just a shitty argument to excuse their laziness. Being an almost identical mechanic isnt the point. The argument for banning Dynamax was fine, because even if it was specific dynamax Pokemon that were the issue, banning them would have likely led to people using other options anyways, but with Gmax there's only so many options and most of them do entirely different things, most of which are also just flat out bad or even in the situation where Gmax is an improvement over the Dmax like copperajah, the Pokemon is often times still pretty mediocre.
Is it possible that Gmax Pokemon become to hard to deal with in a post dynamax metagame anyways? Absolutely, but it should have been tested first. We thought Megas were going to be broken too, and originally discussed just banning the mechanic, but didn't and instead decided to ban the problematic Megas
>>43357114It has nothing to do with predictability, it's that most Gmax pokemon were nowhere near the level of broken as Hawlucha, Excadrill, Gyarados, etc and were quite easy to deal with.
