If the Smogon analysis had an other sets section, Dragon Dance would be in there. While boosted Dragon Darts can hit very hard you're basically scrounging to fill in the rest of the move slots.

Imagine making a Ghost Pseudo and still not realising you haven't made a single good non-signature Physical Ghost move.
While Dusknoir, Banette, Golurk, Dragapult and probably others are getting cucked, Marshadow, Decidueye & Marowak all get to have a good Phys Ghost move for themselves.

Because a reliable and spammable Ghost move like Shadow Ball with the chance of a SpDef drop + a super strong Dragon STAB like Draco Meteor on an incredibly fast Pokémon is just that fucking good. You only need to get rid of Bisharp to make this little bitch put work on the team.

If Pursuit comes back into the game it's fucking over for Dragapult, but for now special set is fucking demonic.

Barely anything resists Ghost though. Normal is immune and Dark resists it. That's it.

Its lack of high-powered moves is the only thing holding it back from beign the best offensive type in the game.

Basically, Ghost right now is a less broken version of pre-Fairy Dragon.

Ghost's neutral coverage is busted and physical sets don't get to take advantage of it because they get Phantom Force instead of Shadow Claw. Specs Shadow Balls or boosted Hexes are the way to go.

Physical attacks are generally inferior to special given numerous ways to nerf them(intimadte, Burn, etc.) as wells as more numerous physical wallsand gen 8 OU lacks the primary special wall of chansey which serves as basically the only counter to special attacking.

Dragapult is not immune to burns, paralysis or poison making as susceptible to most status effects, Clear body is indeed the better option for physical Dragapult given that it lets you ignore sticky web and intimidate however you shouldn't immediately discount infiltrator as it lets you pierce substitute as well as the wall moves making infiltrator an ideal option to use as well.

Pivot around with U-Turn, Burn everything, hits stuff occasionally with Draco, clean up everything with boosted Hex

Just because Smogon says physical sets are inferior, it doesn't mean they can't be used. People in high ladder do use physical Dragapult even if it's arguably inferior to special Dragapult because it fits their team or fills a niche better. Smogon doesn't write analyses for every variant of every Pokemon.

Phantom Force is a much better move in VGC/doubles.
You can stall out a turn of Dynamax, you can break protect (which nearly every mon has), and it's not as simple to deal with in a meta without much switching.

Your sucker punchers are easy food for WoW/T-Wave and nothing outspeeds at +1 speed.

DD/Dragon Darts means you don't need Infiltrator, the first hit breaks the sub.
The problem of course comes with DD mons that hide behind subs, meaning you get OHKO before you get a chance to retaliate outside of using scarf pult.
