He's been listed solely as an executive producer ever since Crystal so he could be doing literally anything at Game Freak since 2000.

Has Tajiri earned his fortune and basically zoned out? Does he at least go to Game Freak's office once in a while to make sure they haven't burned the place down or something?

Japan was actually pretty tecnologically behind the world pre-WWII. It was only after the nuke and they started opening up their borders more, did they start modernising in earnest. Tagiri grew up with lots of greenspaces to mess about in, but by the time he got out of college, all that was disappearing as Japan ramped up its modernisation. He'd created Pokémon as a way to share the experiences he'd had with children in this new Japan, who mightn't have access to greenspaces to bughunt.

Nigger they were pressuring the cunt to make Pokémon 2 while he was dicking about with Blue, they set up Pokémon Centre to handle the absurd amount of people crying for pokémon related tat to be made. You don't understand, the fanbase in the OG Pokémania informed the franchises' blueprint for success - every decision they made, with the exception of adding Lugia and Celebi to a movie was done because there was a demand from the fanbase for it. That 20 years down the line, they're continuing this strategy of releasing all kinds of tat to tie in with a Generation is not fucking strange, only thing is is children either selectively remembering, whitewashing these facts out or just plain not being aware enough at the time to remember.

All of what I said is true son, because the reason PC was set up was to allow Nintendo/Game Freak/Creatures to stop having to make decisions about the monster Pokémon was becoming and let them continue doing their own things. Pokémon Centre became TPC in 2000 and then the real fun began, as Isihara was a pessimistic cunt who decided to rake in as much money as he could before Pokemon died, only for it not to, the fanbase to continue the demand and the ride to continue ever onward to this day.

He did fuck all connected to the production of Game Freak games smooth-brain. Even when GF got outside help it was from HAL and not fucking Creatures. Man thought Pokémon was dead after Gen II, thought it wasn't going to cross to the next generation of children. 'Course, he also thought the Switch would fail, so it just shows how good he really is. Not many people live to reject the Beatles twice in their lifetime, but he sure as fuck did.
