BW was the last good gen.
156 Pokemon. An entirely new game with just that roster and nothing else. Getting dozens of Pokemon revealed through CoroCoro, the variety show, anime concept art, merchandise leaks, concept art leaks, and demos. We never got anything of that scale ever again, and we're unlikely to ever get a generation that massive or ambitious with its roster either.

Gen 5 didn't overdo it, though. At least, the plot of Gen 5 wasn't as absurd as Gen 6 and Gen 7.

It already happened with Gen 4 here.
In 2015 we despised Diamond and Pearl and now a sizeable portion of /vp/ users love them.
You get used to this shit as you get older with all kinds of things.
I really wouldn't be surprised if in 3 or 4 years /vp/ starts praising Gen 6 as it was the second coming of Christ.

Having been here all this time, I saw the DP hate arise. There have always, ALWAYS been Gen wars, but it was around that time that the popular parroted opinion became "DP were the worst games in the series and Platinum saved them", which is frankly a retarded opinion because Platinum is just DP with bells and whistles and DP had quite a bit of content in comparison to most Pokémon games.

DP's three major issues were
