I really like the redesigns. Character redesigns were one of the few good things about ORAS.
For these two in particular, the redesigns really stress the Brains (Magma) vs. Brawns (Aqua) theme they have going on and gave them, the admins, and the grunts much more visually distinct styles and personalities that still tie into how they approach their goal.

Lyssandre's plan must be bland and generic, but at least made sense. He just wanted to nuke the world with the power of the box legendary and repopulate it with his henchmen. These guys wanted to expand the sea/land without thinking of the consequences for nature and humanity
