>>43359529There aren't many things I trust Pokemon to do for the benefit of their customers nowadays, but I'd still be surprised if they wouldn't make a serious effort to keep cross-gen transfer methods intact. Regardless, there's no sign Nintendo Network and the 3DS eShop will shut down anytime soon; it's not like there's a third party in charge of the service this time around, unlike WFC (GameSpy).
