I wanted to fucking strangle Lillie by the time I was done and I ended up never finishing a second playthrough because of the cutscenes.

design though some of them are different. I think Ultra Sun had the whole Lusamine plot play out differently.

Pokemon games aren't designed to be replayed. They never have. They're multiplayer games with a tacked on single-player campaign.

If you just want to play by yourself, Pokemon is the wrong game for you.

And also whenever I bring up ideas from other games to make Pokemon into a better rpg, anons get all defensive as if the only thing they enjoyed was the "Pokemon formula" of raising mons and battling online, not caring for other features like story and characters and side quests.
Which makes me think again that they only play Pokemon.

That's not what most people complain about tho.
Just like SwSh, S&M had a lot of pauses so the characters can talk. They were slow mostly meaninless conversations that constantly stopped you from playing the game.

The same. I played Sun and Ultra Sun when they came out respectively and going through Ultra Sun's cutscenes, which were about 3/4 the same as Sun's, was tedious and tiresome. You do get a better story in SM when you get to the parts that USUM changed, but it's not worth torturing yourself over for when you can just find the cutscenes on YouTube, unless you just got to try out the SM exclusive bosses.

USUM is actually worse than SM for cutscenes because USUM bloated even more cutscenes onto the original games with the Ultra Space crap.

Also USUM ruined Lusamine's character and fucked up her dialogue/motives from the original SM. She's an excellent villain in SM, she's a retarded antihero in USUM that gets cucked by Necrozma's "Ultra Changes".

It was. The entire concept of the series is based around trading and battling with other players, and stuff like the Battle Tower/Frontier weren't dedicated singleplayer content, they were training rooms for PvP.

Pokemon's multiplayer content is better than its singleplayer content; which is because the former is the focus while the latter is just a formality.

The creator's intention was for people to trade and battle with each other, not play alone.

They dont try to make shitty cinematics or force them on you every time you enter or exit a building, they werent so obnoxiously long too. You could pass the text before and thats it, now you have to wait for the shitty cinematic effect the dev want to try see a shitty character animation, wait for their face to stop moving and then you can advance the text.
