currently playing Platinum for the first-ish time. I agree with it being extremely linear. From the map, I thought It would open up a bit at the junctions, but so far it hasn’t. (Just beat Maylene and her cute feet. About to storm the Galactic warehouse.) But I’ve never played Diamond or Pearl. And I’m also not finished with the game. So. Maybe it does open up. Oh. The only thing that changes about linearity is that Fantina is the 5th gym leader and you can fight Maylene and Crasher Wake as the order you want.So it's not such a big change
