Really ugly desu. I can just imagine all the 12-year olds who think this is cool. Y-Gi-Oh looks better. I favor the simple art style deployed in the early generations. I'm not talking about creature design, but rather the colors, linework and degree of detail (not necessarily high) used to depict Pokemon. The best way to describe it would be a manga style. Contemporary Pokemon are too glossy and don't bring to mind monsters found in the wilderness, but rather dull mass-produced mascots. I feel this is all a result of GF being greedy instead of focusing on quality. We would be much better off if there were say, only 200 Pokemon at this point. The real bulk of the work should be going into balancing the game and making small improvements to the Pokemon Universe (which should be smaller in any case).
