The catch mechanic was fun and some variation of active catching would be cool to see come back in the future, if only in the form of a sort of timed button prompt to buff catch rates. The shiny hunting is also the most enjoyable variation so far and respects your time far more. I hope that they bring back Overworld Shinies in the next game. It was super useful.
