In fact, the first part of Blaziken's English name is not from "Blaze", as most assume, but a corruption of the word "Brave". Brave Bird is the bravest attack, so it makes sense that a brave would be able to learn it.
Furthermore, the entire Hoenn region is actually based on the great American state of Georgia, which is why they settled on naming the final evolution of the Fire starter after the mascot of the local MLB team. Had Hoenn been based on, say, Missouri, Blaziken would've been called Chiefken.
