>>43375917>Mewtwo is not a villain>because he was a villain in an old movie>because the new movie he is a villain on doesn't countOk, here's the thing, we can't really consider the Mewtwo in Smash the same Mewtwo as the one in the first movie and its remake because the way Pokémon (the monsters, not the humans, don't try and twist my words here) as characters work a bit differently than other characters because, in theory, there can be multiples of the same mon, legendaries aren't any different here, and this would include the ones we have in Smash. This is what I meant by my first point on Mewtwo, I'm considering how the overall character has been played out for its duration in the franchise. We wouldn't want to leave out the Mewtwo that appeared in the Genesect movie, right? Also, on your second point, I'll assume you are referring to the Detective Pikachu movie, which if that's the case, since I haven't seen the movie (and therefore can't argue on this point), I am willing to give you the benefit of the doubt that Mewtwo CAN be considered a villain in this aspect, and accept my loses on my first point. However, as I said in my second point on Mewtwo, if we consider it a villain rep in Smash, this begs the question of the following;
>Also, on Mewtwo, even IF it can be counted, what truly stops another villain rep for Pokémon from getting in, considering Mario and Metroid, for example, have multiple villain characters?>>43375929Nah, not really. Sure, it's meant to be a heel, but when you compare that to the likes of Bowser, Ganon, Ridley, and K. Rool, for example, being a heel isn't really cutting it. Also, this
