to me the best and most exciting games to boot up was any game consisting of johto or sinnoh.

honestly i believe the peak was hg/ss, but B2W2 are runner ups, it's hard to judge because either way it all went to shit from there regarding replay factor.

I really liked Xerneas' revival with that amazing song playing, the whole thing was so spectacular and hype, specially for a simple box legendary encounter. But then again, saying anything good about XY here is a sin, so...
I'm not saying it's the peak of the franchise or anything, not at all, I just personally really like how that scene was orchestrated and it stuck with me.

Fighting your Rival at the end of RBY. Nothing else has peaked that feeling.
I still get goosebumps even THINKING about the music of that fight, 22 years later.
That was it. A journey in the series has never felt purer, more punctuated than that.

So predictable. No, HGSS does not have a shit level curve. The reason why HGSS has a different level curve is to account for the much less linear progression compared to other games. Not only does the level curve make the game actually feel and play different than the same old rehashed level curve of every other game, it also gives you more freedom instead of being forcefully railroaded the entire game.

Never understood this complaint desu. I dont think grinding is the best in the game but would you prefer to it to be that you can just stomp through the entire game without having to actually train or strategize?

The only real issue with it in HG/SS is that there isn't a whole lot of good areas to train.

The game was more linear than the original and doubled down on the story, which was also garbage in the original as well. The freedom isn't worth shit when everyone and their mother is using level thirty pokemon from mid-Johto to early Kanto.
