Pokemon has had the clashing art style for too long, like gen 1 and 5 pokemon look like one should be in pokemon and one should be in digimon. The fact that Gen 4 designs look more like pokemon than Gen 8s just show how much the art style has been messed up.

Found the Sinnoh baby. If you are blind to not see the random spikes and geometric patterns all over gen 4 but complain about gen 5 that went back to basics on a lot of design philosophy you are either blind or need to rake off the rose colored glasses.

Only in the sense that one is meant to be a starter mascot and the other is a middle-of-dex funny Pokemon. Otherwise they are very much clearly both Pokemon.with roughly the ame amount of detail.
