Dual typing

Should all Pokemon, from now on be dual type? I find Single typing boring and I don't think I ever found someone who liked single typing. What about anons' here?

Dual typing is almost always better offensively as you have two options for STAB.
Mono typing can be stronger on defensive mons because there's no way to hit them x4 effectively. Water, Steel, Fairy and Poison in particular are excellent defensive monotypes. Only a handful of defensive dual types are better than mono, and they usually involve some combo of the 4 mentioned above.

Honestly they should have reworked STAB ages ago. Like, make it so monotypes get a ×2 stab as opposed to a 1.5, or make it so dual types get 1.25 on their secondary type or something.

The single most powerful Pokemon in every generation up until 6 have all been monotype, and even then it was ORAS that changed it. It would probably be wiser to just indirectly buff them.

Or better yet, reduce STAB on dual types to 1.33
That makes the game far less offensive and OHKO focused

I think they should be more generous with dual types (why is there only one fire/water for example? And why is the Galar dex like half monotypes that are clearly better off with a dual type?) and use every possible type combination at some point, but monotypes have their place, especially on defensive moms.

I concede that too much of the galar dex was monotype and that there are too many dual typings with a lack of members, but the point still stands.

I don't really see the need to buff monotypes with better stab either. There are plenty of good monotype pokemon as is. The best monotype typings (steel/fairy) are still plenty better than many dual type typings.

If they were to make a change to make everything dual type, I would prefer if they implemented some sort of feature that assigns one of the pokemon's typings as its primary type and the other as its secondary to add nuance into the formula.
