Furret is an oversized ferret though. Shit, its face is even similar to the species IRL. Gen I+II were closer to the real world with their animal inspirations, because they hadn't fully made the decision to base it in its own world (GS originally being based off all of Japan).

The beta designs were cut for a reason; they didn't work as designs. A sprite is one thing, but it also has to be able to function as a living, moving organism. They were concepts that fell apart when they started thinking about how they'd move or fight.

Ditto's gimmick is that it transforms into a copy of its opponent, and Magneton floats around and shoots beams. They're functional.
