>>43384627>it was broken! It was on the fucking ancient bethesda engine, that has no bearing on how lazy it is just how much QA they had
>it was unfinishedYet in it's original "unfinished" release state, it had 10 times the content of LGPE.
>it's an almost 1-1 remake of that 20+year old gameAnd that's lazy as fuck. I'm not saying it's entirely unacceptable to do such a thing, but most of the time those are released as budget releases or they have some other big aspects to make them worth the rerelease. Remakes can put in as much effort as FF7 or be incredibly lazy and you are blind if you think LGPE isn't incredibly lazy
>QoL improvements! Great aesthetic! The performance! Most of this shit is just using a fucking engine from the 3ds games. Otherwise a line of code that makes all pokemon a particular nature does not disqualify it from laziness.
> anyone that takes a few moments to think will be able to tell you that a top down RPG will have fade transitions to what are clearly entirely seperate maps and locations.I'm not even talking about when YOU transition into other maps, when the fucking NPC that gives you flash walks into the building, he just raises his arm towards the door and the fucking screen just fades to black and he disappears. They didn't animate the door opening, they didn't just have the NPC walk inside the door, they just use the fade to black shortcut constantly. Did they animate your character CLIMBING down a ladder? No, it just has your character crouch and then fade to black. When you first used flash, I was expecting a circle of light to appear around you like the orginal game, but the lights just all turn on like normal. NPCs still never get animated besides like 2 gestures and pivoting in place. Anything that requires animations OR EFFORT just happen off screen. They just can hide it better than F76 because they are still being held by the crutch of fixed camera angles, small maps, locking you into extremely scripted cutscenes, etc.
