Bruno and Chuck were of course the most difficult to create. The main idea was to counter flying and psychic types with bulky ground and rock types. Bruno used Onix so most seemed fitting. Octillery is for coverage.
Clair is a mess. I know. But what can you do with only one fricking dragon type in the dex? Plus I never liked that bitch so she gets the passive aggressive team. Dunsparce is Glare/Toxic lead with Protect, Mantine is for bulk and to confuse, Granbull was more related to Clair character than anything and Ampharos for coverage.
Lance is just a mixed basic team, aside from the fact that I finished the available evo lines, you could beat him with only one Electric or Ice type in GS. This team would require a well-composed team to counter it.
Some other stuff: Corsola for Jasmine is because she once trained rock types and to counter fire types. Bellossom is for poison and sleep.
Togetic on Will counter Ghost types. Politoed for Koga is to set up Perish Song and counter fire types.
Jumpluff and Blissey on Karen is to make her more annoying and grating as the final E4. Jumpluff with powders and Attract and Blissey with bulk and Soft-boiled. Basically a rehash of Whitney strategy.
