Grass: There are a lot of prehistoric animals out there but I think a giant sloth evolving from a three toed sloth with focus on how they grow algae and moss on their bodies for the grass typing would be neat. Maybe make it slow and strong but have chlorophyl as the HA, not sure it needs a second type.
Water: Humanoid platypus rogue/thief with poison daggers (made of toxic liquid akin to Greninja’s shuriken) who gains poison 2nd tier.
Fire: Instead of a Bull/Cow for the Zodiac lets go with India’s interpretation that swaps them for elephants. It is a full quadruped and breaths fire from its trunk but its ears are massive muscular arms. Fire/Fighting.

I would like some less conventional creatures. I'm not asking for some weird specific non-massmarketable things, starters have become so rote now that I'd like to see a generation that tries to strike outside of the norm a little bit with them. Besides that, let's see some interesting dual typings.

I'm actually a fan of the snail. Feels very unique from the rest of the existing water starters, and a creative yet straightforward enough idea to be real. The fire bunny's carrot guns are a little too silly for me personally though, and assdeer is just ridiculous.

Don't be a retard. Being quadrupedal doesn't automatically make a pokemon good, and samurott is a prime example of that. Similarly, being a biped based on a human profession isn't automatically bad (see: tyrantrum).

For the starters to be something I'd use, they'd have to be actually interesting, unlike the past 8 gens. I'll just catch the new regional bug and obligatory objectmon. I box my starter for the bug almost every playthrough anyways.
