HGSS is easy even for a pokémon game. bosses don't consistently increase in level when you get farther in the game and they sure don't get more difficult. the only gym anyone complains about is the second one
nier automata eventually turns into full on bayonetta air combo craziness once you get good at it
HGSS's plot was boring when it was written in the 90s
nier automata is engaging on an emotional level: pathos and bathos. it also invites you to think about your emotions and the experiences the characters have and evaluate why you can feel that way about game characters.
