Similar to how moves that complete shit in the main games can be useful in the anime due to battles being real-time. String Shot might be pretty shit in the context of a turn-based RPG where it just lowers the opponent's speed number, but when taken into a real-time format where it completely restrains and immoblizes the opponent, it's a handy move
