Are Pokémon Daimond and Pearl (not Platinum) the worst Pokemon game every made?

Structurally, I like them better than Gen 5, 6, 7 and 8, but I also hate how slow Diamond and Pearl how, so if they're the worst or not for me depends on my mood

i replayed it recently and thought it was passable, but yeah there's no reason to play it when plat exists but the same can be said for rubysaphire and red blue.

Shitty meme, I'm playing diamond right now and it isn't slow or boring. There's much more than just bidoof and the pokedex has a nice variety, unless you like fire types. Gen 6 has the most forgettable gyms and elite four.
The real issues of gen 4 is the overabundance of HMs cross-gen evos and Legendary/mythical pokemon.
I wouldn't call them the worst when gen one is buggy as hell, gen 6 is bland, and gen 8 is beyond fucked in every regard

There are literally two water routes and one is optional
They're "forgettable" because it's been 12 years since the last Sinnoh game and 8 years since they were last in anything. People used to praise Sinnoh because its Gym Leaders actually appeared outside its Gyms, which was novel at the time since it had only happened with eighth Gym Leaders in previous games.

Gen 4 doesnt have a cutscene every 10 minutes, nor does it make my character a side character to someone else's story, nor does it have some faggot robot keep trying to talk to me every 5 minutes. As bad as someone might think gen 4 is, it's beyond me how anyone could find gen 7 better.
I can't even speak on Gen 8 since I'm /notbuyingit/

The biggest gripe is the overabundance of HMs other than that it's a pretty solid region and gen.

I would add RS, XY, ORAS, SM, and LGPE to that list. I wouldn't specify Japanese RG (it's redundant) and I've played them and it's the same fucking thing with slightly different sprites and a few more bugs. But add Blue and Yellow as well, and mmmmaybe BW. BW's overall game design is somewhat sloppier and notably more rigid than previous games, and there are a lot more heavy text story segments that would be intrusive if they had full cutscenes.

The same engine is in HGSS which is eternally dicksucked by all except the most schizo of Johtoboomers ok the speed isn't that big of an issue
Bidoof spam is a big hyperbole
There's really not that much surfing either, unless you're going to pal park or something
I guess they're a bit forgettable, but Sinnoh does have one of the strongest sets of gyms and E4, maybe the best out of the 2D games, I only see hard mode BW2 as a contender.

Japanese Red and Green are different than international Red and Blue. The latter two are more similar to japanese Blue so you could remove that and still have 14 games.

I consider RBY and RSE worse games but DP are pretty hard to replay after short time. They may be the worst games for quick, repeated playthroughs... these or SM/USM but I haven't replayed the latter yet.

They're really not that different. There are some bug fixes and they use Blue's graphics and most of its translated text, they're essentially identical in terms of intended game design. You can't say the same thing about Red, Green, and Blue because they all use different encounter tables (Blue is incidentally mostly a mix of the two apart from some interesting anomalies) and Blue's trades are different. International Red and Blue are really only aesthetically different to Red and Green.

I mean in terms of what you're playing, you will have an identical experience outside of bugs. But really, that's like saying that Japanese Gold and Silver are different games to American Gold and Silver because all the text is different, the status menus and the PC have different layouts, boxes hold 20 Pokémon instead of 30, some sprites were altered during localization, and height/weight functions somewhat differently. Actually, English Gold and Silver probably has more meaningful differences.
