You'd think that they would've made this area a bit more interesting, considering how near-endgame it is and how you need a specific bike for it, instead of just putting in two random secret bases, a few useless berries and a rare candy.

I did, it was fun to have to fish random tiles and felt like an achievement when you caught Feebas with the right nature.

Well B2W2 has this switch where after Skyla you go to the East of Unova.From this point you confront Team Plasma a lot more and have lore on Kyurem.

I actually dislike this route, it's so samey for how long it is. Also the bike paths are retarded, if something like that was added to a new game I'm sure you guys would complain saying they ran out of ideas to push whatever new toy they're trying to shill.
The next route is better.

In RSE, you have to switch bikes to be able to reach everything in the route
At least in ORAS you have both bikes, not like that makes ORAS any less shitty

The items are optional though aren't they? I just see it as something extra you do, also to make advantage of the two different bikes.
