Obviously there are shitters like Abomasnow and Blastoise and what have you because they arent all going to be perfect. Thought that said, even if they aren't perfect, the potential to go back and make a better one with alternate mega evolutions was also there.
Could've had a Blastoise X/Y and a Venusaur X/Y. It's still bullshit that only Shillzard got 2 forms of the three starters.
